Grant Help

If you would like to apply for US government grants for your foreclosure needs, than you need to understand the process of locating and applying to the grants. There are all kinds of fake and empty promises out there, that promise to give you the magical shortcut in exchange for your hard earned dollars, but you need to understand the application process first, and shortcut later.

First, you need to understand that the grants do come with "string attached". It's true that they don't need to be paid back, but there are strict conditions as to how the money is actually spent. The people who gave you the grant want to be sure that it is spent on the purpose for which is way applied for, and not to other purposes. There are usually strong sanctions involved if you fail to fulfil theses terms.

Another fact you should be aware of, is that a large percentage of federal and government grants are intended for non-profit organizations that are aimed at serving the community, and making the world a better place. But still, there is free grant money that is available from the government to entrepreneurs in competitive fields of business, so the effort of getting a grant is still worth while.

A good place to start hunting your free grant money down is the US government's grant.gov website. You can search and apply online for grants from many federal granting agencies online. The application process is completely automated and is very convenient.

Another great source of information is the government's Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA). You can visit the site at CFDA.gov. The site lists government grants and assistance for homeowners, renters and even small business start-ups. It's easy to search for and apply to what you need.

You also need to know that not all the grants in all areas are available year-round. Some have deadlines and you need to apply before a certain date if you want to be considered for qualifying for the grant.
